The Life of a Shaolin Grandmaster

Some information about me

I was born in London where I lived a reasonably normal life until I moved to Japan after university where I had a couple of abnormal years.

I worked in advertising on my return to England until a sabbatical took me to Malaysia where I wrote my book on Sugong.

I have been a high school teacher, money broker, model and stuntman. I am now working in marketing in London again.

Big in Thailand

Massive in Mumbai

Having made no lasting impression in Tokyo other than to irritate the receptionists of its largest (and now defunct) English school Nova with my looped video welcome, I seized the opportunity to crack Thailand and India when my chance came.

I was a stuntman in a Rexona (Sure) advert with Thai superstar Marsha Wattanapanich who flipped me into an airborne somersault in a short fight scene (my 'blink and you'll miss it' moment comes on 22 seconds).

And when my acting was so poor I failed the role of ‘Englishman’ I was blacked up and bewigged so I could be the stunt body double for Bollywood star Mahesh Babu in an ad for Navratna Oil.

Unfortunately as my star shines less brightly than Mahesh’s, all you see of me is my back as I duck kung fu kicks, have chairs smashed over me and get kicked onto a table that explodes into splinters.
